Ryder's Xchange / we / us / our Ryder's Xchange Pty Ltd (ACN 671 989 736), the platform operator.
Hosts Scooter and motorcycle owners who list and make vehicles available on the platform.
Users Persons who book and use vehicles through the platform.

Platform The Ryder's Xchange online marketplace, including website, applications, booking tools, payment workflows and related services.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Ryder's Xchange Pty Ltd (Ryder's Xchange, we, us or our) collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information in connection with the Ryder's Xchange platform, including our website, applications, booking tools, payment workflows and related services.

We operate an online marketplace that connects scooter and motorcycle owners (Hosts) with users who book and use those vehicles (Users). This Privacy Policy is intended to support compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles, to the extent they apply to our activities.

By using the platform or providing personal information to us, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We may also collect limited information from third parties, including identity verification providers, payment processors, insurers, service providers, referees, regulators, law enforcement bodies and other users where relevant to a booking, claim, complaint or dispute.

4. How we collect personal information

We may collect personal information when you:

  • create an account;
  • list a vehicle or make a booking;
  • upload identification, licence or insurance documents;
  • communicate with us or another user through the platform;
  • complete forms, surveys or support requests;
  • participate in promotions or marketing activities;
  • make or receive payments;
  • report an incident, accident, damage claim or dispute; or
  • browse or interact with our website or applications.

Where reasonable and practicable, we will collect personal information directly from you. In some cases, we may collect information from third parties where this is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities.

5. Purposes of collection, use and disclosure

We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for purposes including to:

  • provide, operate, administer and improve the platform;
  • create and manage user accounts;
  • facilitate bookings, payments, refunds, bonds, claims and dispute resolution;
  • verify identity, eligibility, licence status and account security;
  • communicate with users about bookings, incidents, support requests and service updates;
  • enforce our agreements, policies and platform rules;
  • investigate suspected fraud, misconduct, unlawful activity or safety issues;

6. Disclosure of personal information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Hosts and Users where reasonably necessary to facilitate a booking or resolve an issue arising from a booking;
  • payment processors and financial service providers;
  • identity verification providers and fraud prevention service providers;
  • insurers, brokers, claims managers and roadside or recovery providers;
  • technology, hosting, communications and customer support providers;
  • professional advisers, auditors and corporate service providers;
  • regulators, government agencies, courts, tribunals, law enforcement bodies and dispute resolution bodies; and
  • any person to whom our business or assets are transferred in connection with a restructure, financing, sale or acquisition.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process personal information outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the information is handled in a manner consistent with applicable privacy law.

As at the effective date of this Privacy Policy, overseas recipients may be located in countries where our cloud, communications, analytics or payment service providers operate, which may include the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Singapore and other jurisdictions notified to you from time to time.
